#1 Live Your Dream Award (formerly Women's Opportunity Award)

The Live Your Dream Award is a cash grant awarded to a woman who provides the primary source of financial support for their family (head of household status), who is seeking to improve her economic status by gaining additional skills, training or education through an accredited learning center.  To apply for this award, call 541-218-9974

Our 2016 1st Place Live Your Dream Award winner of a $2000 cash award is: 

  
Nadine Villa
 
 
 
Nadine is from Grants Pass and is currently  attending
Southern Oregon University in Ashand
where she is persuing a Bachelor of Science Psychology Degree.
Her career goal is to become a Community Program Developer and Coordinator.
She hopes to develop a program in Southern Oregon modeled after a Southern Clifornia program called
"Homeboy Industries".  Having been brought up there in that atmosphere, she would like to help those who seek to break away from that life and make a better life for themselves.  This program would help by offering education, therapy, substance abuse treatment and legel assistance through a coordinated effort with community resources.
Nadine has faced many devastating problems but has come out
 of it more determined than ever to succeed in reaching her goal.

Our 2nd Place 2016 Live Your DreamAward winner of a $1000 cash award is: 

  
Theresa Jensen
 
 
 Theresa is from Rogue River, Oregon and is currently enrolled at RCC
where she is working on anAA/Oregon transferDegree. 
She plans to transfer to SOU for a Masters Degree as a Special Ed teacher. 
She has 2 children, ages 17 and 26, who are both autistic.
As a result, Theresa has been a champion of helping autistic children. 
She made life for her two children as normalm as possible and,
while working with them at their school, this became her passion.
Her daughter is set to graduate from high school thi8s year
and her son is taking some classes at RCC.
She has experienced numerous adversities in her life
and only wants to help others overcome their obstacles.
We wish her all the best in her endeavors.
