Income from Soroptimist International of Ashland’s signature fundraiser, the pillow and blanket rental booth at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Elizabethan Theater, has significantly decreased these past few years due to smoke from wildfires. In 2020, because of COVID 19 and the closure of OSF, we were unable to open the rental booth at all.
As we look to award scholarships for women and girls in our community, we invite you to join us and make a contribution to support our work. Your gift will help make a difference in the lives of local women and girls. Soroptimist International of Ashlandis part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc., a global volunteer organization that provides resources and opportunities for women and girls to reach their full potential and live their dreams.
We meet at noon on Wednesdays from September through June at Puerto Mazatlan, 1209 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. We invite anyone with an interest in improving the lives of women and girls to join us. Weekly meetings: Wednesdays at noon, at Puerto Mazatlan ($10.00 a plate) where we stay connected and have a program of interest from someone in the community.
Party of Parties: Our FUN-Raising program where members hostess and attend parties, such as wildflower walks, house-parties, wine tours, and more.
Small Dinner Groups: We divide into groups of 8-10, and each group gathers for an evening meal (at restaurants or in homes) about once each month.
Service Projects: Our signature project is Soroptimist Strong Girls Strong Women, designed to develop leadership and confidence in girls K-5. We also participate in other service projects such as road cleanup and collection of items for groups that serve our community.
Scholarships, Awards, & Grants: We disperse the funds we raise to the community to improve the lives of women and girls.
Oregon Shakespeare Festival Pillow Booth: During the theater season, We rent pillows and blankets at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre, earning money with which we do service, improving the lives of women and girls.
